Despite the popularity of universal free school lunch amongst Americans, many members of Congress are against the initiative. The Onion asked politicians to explain why they oppose free school lunch, and this is what they said. bit.ly/42tsxCH
Politicians Explain Why They Oppose Free School Lunch Programs bit.ly/40kTpmp
@TheOnion @MelissaGill999 Here, in the US, we pay for things. You've heard the expression - "there is no free lunch"?
@TheOnion A few responses are so ridiculously unbelievable that it's hard to believe if it was actually said!
@TheOnion My kids go to high school in California and they get free lunches every day, but most of the time they pay for a snack from the vending machine and they at home before and after school. Why? Because school lunch sucks! I wonder how much of it ends in the trash bin! Lol.
@TheOnion That's why they love fetuses so much. Because they don't need lunches
@TheOnion “It’s a complicated issue. I hear the word ‘free,’ I feel livid. Then I hear the word ‘school,’ and I feel horny.” - Matt Gaetz
@TheOnion The very fine (or none existant) line between satire and truth.
