@TheIndieManiac So common especially in older games but even in newer games you'll get this. The worst is when your exploring you go the right way and straight into a cutscene argh!💢
@TheIndieManiac So true! Definitely my experience with Infinity Engine CRPGs...
@TheIndieManiac I did experience this recently in FF 7 Rebirth. Trying to find any items I might miss and go right into a cutscene instead. 🤦♂️
@TheIndieManiac I hate when this happens 🙄 especially when you cannot come back and check what missing. A game should always prompt the player in those cases, particularly if it contains collectables.
@TheIndieManiac its either this or the game invisa walls you by saying, its not that way, forcing you to deal with the story first, and come back later on
@TheIndieManiac And after cutscene you can't go back.
@TheIndieManiac This, and if I'm intentionally looking to move things along I'll typically get lost and end up somewhere else entirely.
@TheIndieManiac one of the reasons im watching game design videos on youtube is to learn how to spot the main path. not just yellow ladders, but more subtle clues
