Doing a new hairstyle on hair that hasn’t been freshly washed & conditioned is like putting a full face on top of a full face that’s a couple of days old.
Black women creators don’t need more mentorship…we need more MONEY. scratch the fellowships, bootcamps, accelerators, internships, and certificates. instead, wire funds, send zelles, and transfer stocks, bonds, and deeds. also, pay us early or on time.

On today’s episode, a yt man tried to quote me 4x the avg price on flooring and made a big deal of “calling his manager” to “get a discount approved.” This man proceeded to act utterly SHOCKED about the price- “a GREAT deal.”😒 What brand of idiot do you think you’re talking to?
Just because a company releases a new product doesn’t mean they’re thoughtfully filling a need. There might not be a need for the product at all.
I just watched a skincare “tutorial” that included a person using a condom on their face in the routine. I don’t know what the hair version is, but Y’ALL BETTER NOT.
Stylists: if you can’t afford to pay an assistant a living wage, then you can’t afford to hire an assistant.
I am so tired of our industry and salon owners expecting the absolute most of stylists (whether they are booth rental or commission) without bringing anything (like fair pay) to the table themselves.
Do rinse your hair after you’re done in the pool. If you’re planning to be in the pool for a consecutive number of days, we recommend co-washing daily.
Do get your hair soaking wet with water prior to getting in the pool, this will actually allow the hair to become swollen with water while keeping chlorinated water out.

The reason a lot of y’all see braids as a necessity type item is because you’re still under the impression they’re “protective” 😬
Why do we expect the exact service we want for the low? Why don’t we pick the service that is commiserate to our pocketbooks rather than search for someone to exploit? If you got $75, get a $75 hairstyle rather than expecting to find someone who’ll do a $300 service for $75.

What folks are seeing as a service issue is most often an economic issue. There will ALWAYS be exceptions, but lower cost is dependent on volume/quantity. Volume requires a specific business model when there is 1 form of production, the stylist.
Nothing, and I mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G, sold on shelves is able to “moisturize” hair. I don’t care what product label and marketing says. “Moisture” cannot be sold in a bottle. (Unless we’re talking about a bottle of h2o 💦 🚿)
