I still don’t see a reason Intel cars can’t get the new UI. Even if it’s slightly less realistic….
@TeslaTruckClub Perhaps you'd understand if you had working knowledge of the hardware and software.
@TeslaTruckClub Probably some boring code dev stuff that makes it much harder to do but they will do it one day
Question for me is whether the old cars will see the 'fsd' rendering in the left bar ? They can do it in the little screen in the old Model S/X , so they should be able to do so in the Intel version. Full Screen or not. That said, the speed difference between rendering a fixed number of triangles full screen or on the side is not really that high with GPUs even old ones.
@TeslaTruckClub Must have to do with layering features with smooth transitions.... Then again you can spin your car in a dynamic 3d environment but then Atom can't handle Spotify scrolling so I have no f'ing clue what's going on.
@TeslaTruckClub Is there some render opcode in the AMD chip? Presuming they're both x86 If AMD means ARM, then I get it
@TeslaTruckClub I think they also don't want to have two different code bases but that's the dilemma when specific code for graphics is used. But a big company like Tesla can do it. Question is whether we can keep bugging them about it.
@TeslaTruckClub Yeah, they should just decrease the graphics quality. I am sure most owners wouldn't care, and likely wouldn't even notice.
@TeslaTruckClub It does feel a bit arbitrary, but also, I wouldn't stress about it. It's a silly update that doesn't do anything for usability or anything like that.
@TeslaTruckClub Maybe the are working on a 'lighter' version. However such programming is often not easy, as decisions have to be made as to what gets either cut, or slowed down in the program flow. So I hope they're doing just that but I wouldn't be surprised if it took a little more time.
