Use of fireworks is permitted by Arizona law between Dec. 26 and Jan. 4 until 11 p.m. each night, except for New Year’s Eve when they are allowed until 1 a.m. If you suspect fireworks are being used illegally around you, call the Tempe Police non-emergency line at 480-350-8311.

@PHXFire @ScottsdaleFire Crews have successfully contained the fire at the city’s compost pile at Rio Salado Parkway and Priest Drive. This morning, a fire broke out at the Tempe compost yard at Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway. Thank you to Phoenix Fire, Scottsdale Fire and Municipal Utilities for assisting us. There is no green waste disposal today at this facility because of the fire.
