they said they had NO cars, and were overbooked. The agent at the counter claimed that there was an ‘LAX price glitch,’ and, since I did not pay for the car in advance, there was nothing she could do.

As I was in town for a funeral, I was at the mercy of competing car rental companies, who could offer me nothing like I had budgeted for through priceline and NU Car rentals, resulting in an astronomical markup of nearly ten times what priceline and NU Car guaranteed. Was this a

bait-and-switch, roping me into the larger costs at the agency I used?

The inconvenience adds to my grief: priceline advertises ’Burn rubber (not cash!) with incredible savings on rental cars.’ I’m reaching out to my Facebook community now to see if anyone knows of a better way of dealing with NU Car and priceline. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
