I completely understand wanting to leave your red state because it’s become unsafe & unwelcoming, but that’s EXACTLY what those making it unsafe & unwelcoming want...
@IAmPoliticsGirl Yes, but folks waiting until they are sent to the camps is also what those making it unsafe and unwelcoming want. The tipping point on when to leave is not the same for everybody, and I question nobody's decision. My wife and I have already picked the date to get out of Texas.
@TeacherGuy1963 I completely understand. I’m so sorry this is your reality. I just wish more people would get riled up & go to battle for American freedom. You shouldn’t have to leave your home. That you feel you have no other choice should enrage the good people of Texas.
@TeacherGuy1963 @IAmPoliticsGirl I can understand that, especially when it seems like there is a shooting every other day in Texas. I am a DV survivor, so I do possess a firearm in my home and carry pepper spray. I do not agree with this whole “constitutional catty bs.” Good luck to you!!
@TeacherGuy1963 @IAmPoliticsGirl Also TX leaving Fall ‘23. We are retiring & have been looking for a few years on where to land. I’m exhausted. I want to be in a state where my grandchildren can come if they need a safe haven. I plan to do what I can from out of state. Our votes will help our new state stay blue
@TeacherGuy1963 @IAmPoliticsGirl That’s fair, everyone has to pick their battles, and if it’s become particularly unsafe for you, you can be blamed for putting you and yours 1st. It’s worth noting that draining a state of its workers isn’t without consequences. Hard to stay in power when business hate you.
