@Tank_Archives I just question if it's a " legendary tank ". Highly produced and an effective tank under the right circumstances but legendary, I'm not sure. It's interesting to think about it.
@Tank_Archives The Americans called it the M4 but when it crossed the Atlantic, in line with habit of naming US tanks after American generals, the British called it the Sherman & the name stuck.
@Tank_Archives US once again entered a world war unprepared. The M4 was too tall, big castings were inefficient, and the gun lacked velocity. But it was reliable. It could be handled by common amph. ships and combat bridging. US later moved to welded plates. Ammo was stored lower in the hull.
