@LetsTalkCanary I say no cause I feel Roman world beast as an anti-Batman. I get that other books have used him, Catwoman in particular, but I am someone who thinks he could easily be Batman’s greatest enemy if done well. I would rather Blockbuster if they need mod stuff. Or Cheshire

When we catch up with Jean at the end of Azrael 1, he is at a homeless shelter that is on fire and refuses to leave cause he thinks the flames are just in his head.

DC showcase ‘94 issue 10 is amazing. Grant shows just how lost Jean is and really highlights that, yeah he is honestly suffering from a mental illness. So often we get so used to mind control in comics, that we forget the impact of losing one’s autonomy.

I will never cease to be impressed by the audacity Denny had in starting the Azrael ongoing. You got a character who a large amount of fans hated, who many saw as one of the weakest parts of Knightfall which they felt dragged on, and yet Denny said “I’m gonna make you love him”

@LetsTalkCanary @TalkingHawkgirl Even well meaning inclusion can still end up problematic. Not to say don’t try, just make sure you pay attention to the group you are representing, and their response. The inclusion is not for brownie points, it is for the benefit of those being represented.

It only does harm when some white straight male writer throws in diversity so people will give them a pat on the back; with no actual appreciation for the minority they are representing. I guess to put it another way: representation is more than having a minority present
