James Cameron can do the “research” and hire Indigenous film legends, but he can’t escape who he is: a filmmaker who told the Guardian that his inspiration for the first Avatar were the Lakota "because they were hopeless and they were a dead-end society." grist.org/culture/avatar…
@Tahtone The bbc have a show called The English. It is set in the midwest of America.
@Tahtone Dewey Beard and Clarence Three Stars would beg to differ.
@Tahtone @vee_c_w Yeah I assumed it was always the pocohontas/ dances with wolves/ run of the arrow hollywood re-issue same colonial trope. I never wanted to watch it. Moana has some issues (AFAIK) but is a lot better approach to an indigenous story. Edge of The Knife is the way to go.
@Tahtone Great movie, recommend you all see it before commenting.
@Tahtone @LadyNichet Whoa. Talk about shameful.
@Tahtone Words spoken by a "Colonizer" White Splaining something of which they have ZERO Knowledge🖕🏾
