TABC Shot Clock Survey Results (September 2023) On behalf of TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF BASKETBALL COACHES, THANK YOU to the high school head basketball coaches in the State of Texas! This survey was truly an unprecedented platform for head coaches to directly provide input.
Overall, more than 2,000 head basketball coaches participated in the survey (over 80%). TABC is excited to take these results (data shown below) to the Legislative Council meeting next weekend (October 15-16 in Austin).
@Tabchoops @PaulMDaRealTalk So the shot clock survey seems to represent increasing interest due to size of schools with 6A showing biggest interest. Meaning more athletes per capita. Bottom line comes down to training and money approval and what levels. Pflugerville has a shot clock. No others
@Tabchoops UIL….bring the clock to 6A ball!!!
@Tabchoops Finally. Lots of people talking about cost here. Figure it out and improve the game If you’re talking about anything other than cost/training, idk what to tell you—it’s 2023. Pretty sure NOBODY said a word when they implemented play clocks for football.
@Tabchoops I’ve been a coach for a decade and I can count the number of possessions lasting more than 30 seconds on one hand. Don’t see the need for a shot clock tbh.
