Extraordinary to hear Steve Barclay on @BBCr4today this morning, arguing that doctors cannot be offered a fair pay deal to make up for the huge depreciation in wages over previous decades - because teachers are paid so little. We should pay teachers more too! Why should these key workers in the public sector be penalised and exploited for not choosing to work in the private sector?

13 years ago this month, my son was diagnosed with brain cancer. I promised him that I would do everything I could to help kids with #ChildhoodCancer. It’s the only thing he asked us to do. OMG. From October my NHS Dentist is going private. I have spent hours trying to find a Dental practice taking NHS patients. There are none. @Conservatives This is on you. I hate you all.

'Tis done. After 23 years as a consultant, I should feel distraught & very angry, especially for the patients who I should have been able to try & help over the next 1/2 decade. But after the horror of the last 10 years, all I feel is an overwhelming sense of relief. I'm out.
