To kick off the 50th anniversary of #NationalVolunteerWeek, TCAD released our annual Volunteer Impact Report! With over $16 million worth of in-kind contributions, almost 12,000 volunteers made a difference for our aging population last year. Read more: tn.gov/aging/publicat…

I enjoyed spending time with @alzTN today discussing the Governor’s proposal to create the Department of Disability and Aging. I’m looking forward to partnering with advocates to support those facing Alzheimer’s and related dementias as well as their caregivers.

Enjoyed meeting with the Tennessee Coalition for Better Aging. We’ll need engagement from partners in the private sector to help move the needle for change. Tennessee is home to over 1.6M folks over 60 who want to live independently, work, and thrive in their community!
