Summer AAU/Club sports are great but there is something special about student-athletes competing against rival schools, in front of a crowd of community members, friends, and family, after attending classes all day, while playing alongside teammates who are also their classmates.

Players: How you practice sets the table for how your season will go. In a healthy athletic environment coaches don't decide playing time, players do. Roles and minutes are earned by performance in practice. When fall workouts get going in a few weeks be in great shape and take what’s yours. There is nothing selfish about being the best version of yourself every day. In fact, you’ll increase the competitiveness of practice and will make everyone else better. Don’t be satisfied with one great day, one great week, or even one great month. Be relentless in your practice effort and performance and you’ll be very happy with what you earn individually and you’ll elevate your entire team along the way.
Correcting & perfecting your shot this off season may be the most important thing to do because ultimately, every game is won or lost by converting baskets, whether it’s finishing around the rim or making shots. Teams need players that can knock down shots so they can win games!
You can shoot too much, you can dribble too much, and you pass too much, but you can never rebound too much.
You play your best when you have fun. The more you enjoy the moment, the easier it is to enter the zone!
Parents (and I’m talking to myself too), we need to be careful not to have goals and aspirations for our children that they don’t have for themselves.

The culture of a school is created by everyone in the school. Walk in a school and see how the front office staff talks and interacts or the staff /teachers in the hallway. Yes the admin influences it but everyone is ultimately responsible for a positive school culture.
