new rule: Holthus stop scripting your calls in advance and please stop repeating them in public
@TJFsports Mr Tom, totally disagree, I love those unique historical references used at the most emotional moments. Oh, you don't think Jim Nance saying "Jackpot Kansas City" was not scripted? Godspeed.
@TJFsports All of you taking Mitch for granted should listen to other NFL radio broadcasts next year. It'll make you realize how good he is.
Last fall, I had a similar convo with a prominent local radio host & play-by-play guy on the same topic and he quoted word-for-word Mitch's SBLIV zing "The Chiefs Kingdom has firmly planted its flag on top of football's highest summit!" ... 14 words that lacked "punch". He said he would have kept it short, simple and sweet. We agreed Holthus is awesome play-by-play guy but at crucial times he just over cooks the steak and burns the potatoes. He ought to keep it short-simple and then bake in a kick-ass zinger.
