The "fact" that the Badgers have not made the S16 in 7 years is such a BS copout. 1. Making the S16 is fricking hard. 2. Tourney was cancelled in a year the Badgers projected to a high seed. 3. They lost Hepburn one year.
4. One year they played #1 seed/champ Baylor (in a competitive game) 5. They didn't make the tourney one year after the backcourt was devasted by injuries. 6. They played an underseeded Oregon one year.
5. They missed the tourney last year in part because they played too tough of a schedule and the NCAA decided to not reward this to the level they had previously.
I get that this year sucked and all that, but as everyone knows, to win two games in the tourney, you have to be lucky and good and over a small sample, the Badgers have been a bit unlucky.
So if you really want to ignore context in order to promote your agenda, go right ahead, but Badgers have been one of the top 15-20 programs in the last 7 years, validated over a MUCH larger sample size.
It doesn't absolve any of the coaches or players from the results being what they are, but going 2-4 in the tournament is really no different than a flip of the coin turning up tails 2x out of 6.
@THEbadgermaniac It's hard to consider yourself a top 20 program when you go 7 years without rising to that level.
