We lost one of the greatest rugby players ever today. JPR Williams passed away at age 74. JPR competed in the 1976 & 1977 UK Superstars, finishing 8th both times. JPR won the tennis event in 1976. 🙏🏻🙏🏾

This Day in #Royals History February 14th: 1978: After a 75 minute tug-of-war match was called a draw, the Kansas City Royals and Dallas Cowboys were both named co-champions of the ABC Sports SuperTeams Competition celebrated in Hawaii.

God I loved the old "Superstars" show that aired on ABC & NBC..... Where else were you going to find the likes of Indy Car driver Danny Sullivan & Jose Canseco getting torched by Darrell Green & Herschel Walker in the 100 meters....
@Jimfrombaseball People don't realize how wiry strong Brock was. I remember during an ABC Superstars competition in the 70s, Brock overhead pressed more than his bodyweight (seems like it was around 180 lbs).
@LasVegasLocally Anything is better than the 2022 pro bowl…but I doubt I would watch a skills challenge contest. This looks like a version of the 1970’s “superstars” contest. Just need a bike track and swimming pool.
