Some thoughts on 'weight bullying' and the Haney- Tank dicussion as someone who has long stated that same-day weigh-ins are best (but will never return) in #boxing - the bottom line is that Haney is playing within the rules and regulations. A lot of todays fighters are 'weight bullies'(if that's what you want to label them). And with nowadays the weigh-ins are now actually 30-plus hours before the bell rings, you'll see guys looking to fight at weights they really don't belong in - If you're going to institute a weigh-in limit ala the IBF, you need everyone to do it. This should be instituted by all the sanctioning bodies or state commissions across the board or you are putting certain fighers in unification bouts at a disadvantage - Also those who now have an issue with Haney's weight gain for fight night -- did you have have an issue when he did the same thing for the Lomachenko fight?Funny how it's not an issue all of a a sudden to certain fans - But here's the most important thing to me, the commissions are now alonging weigh-ins to be weaponized to give certain fighters an advantage. The A-side if they now their opposition are going through tough weight cuts, will negotiate late afternoon weigh-ins. Other times, they will have the 'real' weigh-in take place in the morning so that a certain fighter has more time to rehydrate The commissions should just have a set time for every single weigh-in, or institute a true 24 hour window for the actual weigh-in to take place - But yeah, again, want to have 'fair fights' in weight classes? Go back to morning-off weigh-ins like the olden days. And that will never happen in #boxing...
@SteveKim323 how does a guy even gain 25lbs in 30 hours. how is that even possible
@SteveKim323 Any thoughts on the fact that Tank has fought once at 140 for a belt but now he & his people insist his limit is 135 so 140 isn’t an option?
@SteveKim323 All of twitter tank fans coming to justify for @Gervontaa lmaoooo that “Mayweather Protection Program” is special 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@SteveKim323 Hurd gained 25-30 lbs when he rehydrated. Benavidez does too. Wait, almost everyone does besides HWs!
@SteveKim323 So, all the great fighters before Haney We're highly criticized for it. But now haney comes along new generation and it's okay now not right
@SteveKim323 They need to set a maximum weight every fighter join that weight class can rehydrate to...
@SteveKim323 Well said Steve..👏👏 the fact the powers to be did away with same day weigh-ins for the "health of fighter's" without considering the degree in which fighters would go to manipulate the next day weigh in shocks me.
@SteveKim323 Agreed if all the sanctioning bodies wanted to avoid this they should put in weight limits the next morning period max 15lb weight gain otherwise you have a advantage when you blow up past that knowing you're not meant to fight in that weight class
