One reason the authors listed to support their case was that districts used federal money to replace HVAC, which I would think is one of the best uses for these dollars imaginable. Thank you to @thehill for posting this foolishness on April 1. apple.news/AJTh_3RhhSOObK…
@StephenJOwens_ @thehill One of the most biased articles I’ve ever read. HVAC would be a top priority- one of the main things you can do to mitigate spread of any airborne disease is to improve the air filtration. And how dare they replace buses and add to the front office staff? What garbage reporting.
@StephenJOwens_ @thehill Had the country invested in HVAC upgrades in as many communal settings as possible in summer 2020, hundreds of thousands of people would be alive today
@StephenJOwens_ @thehill How could it ever be wasting money to put federal dollars into improving school buildings AND giving local HVAC companies business? I’ll never understand
@StephenJOwens_ @thehill The other thing that drives me bananas is you can't just hand schools a huge pot of money with a hard time limit. If it's not a recurring amount, they can't hire staff. Buy materials? Where are we even storing them? Buy tech? Who's maintaining it? We need reliable support.
