@jilevin It would help to make the program _more_ solvent, but it isn't sufficient by itself fully make it solvent, that's according to the SSA itself.
@Joe54759745 If you know how to open the network debug tab, maybe you can see which, if any, requests get blocked. There aren't that many. Incognito shouldn't lose you anything, there are no accounts or other "keep state" features on the site.
@jacdupree There is also a Biden proposed change (not law) which might affect you. The proposal is survivors could choose to collect 75% of the combined household benefit of the two beneficiaries rather than 100% of the deceased spouse benefit. In some cases, this would be a higher benefit.
@jacdupree If you use the tool using your spouse's record, you will see a "Survivor Benefits" section. Not a ton of detail there, but the gist is typically that the survivor receives the higher of the two benefits (their own or the deceased spouse). Example:
