"I'm his crime-fighting partner!" Sidekick, Robin. You're his sidekick. "You never know when the Joker might attack." Translation, Robin is practically house-sitting the bat cave while [ Batman ] fights off villains.

Robin's hands found their way to his hips; almost in a proud mannerism. "It's extremely important. Life or death situation." Well, For Batman's goldfish, it is.

"Can't tell. It's a secret." . . . He can't hold it in. "Okay, okay! If you wanna know that bad! Since you insist, I'm going to . . " Dramatic pause. "— the bat cave."

"Going on a top secret mission." Pauses. "Don't bother asking, 'cause it's [ top secret ]." Oh, boy. Here we go.

He's in shock. An actual state of shock; speechless, stunned, the list goes on. "I've always liked you too— a lot. I just didn't think, you know, it was mutual."

"Of course I am, Robin. I always have." She spoke with a growing smile, nodding her head swiftly and pushing her hair right behind her ear. "Wasn't it obvious?" No. No it wasn't.

Robin's heart practically leaped into his throat, only to pound ferociously; he was almost certain that it would bust out and drop right into Starfire's hands. In a weird way, I kind of already had, a long time ago. The kiss left Robin in a bit of a daze. "You . . [ are ] ?"

Star stared up at the boy, remaining silent, before allowing her brims to upturn. She had an idea. A really bold idea. She bounded up on her tiptoes, immediately leaning in and pressing her lips to his, pulling away a few moments later. "Well, I might be crushing too."

Nerves instantly choked Robin; his throat constricting upon itself, making the necessary task of breathing a sruggle. Ultimately, he coughed through the sudden inquiry. " . . I . . I . . Uh . . " He can't even bring himself to say it. " . . . You know, I might."

Star stepped back slightly, beginning to understand what it all meant. She was at a loss for words, and she struggled to piece together a sentence. "Do you . . . crush on me?" Her eyes wandered up back to his, her lips parted slightly. "Because so many say you do."

She hesitated to speak at first, clearing her throat before her cheeks began to turn a deep pink. "Am I zoning you in the friend way, Robin?"

The question caught him off guard, brows immediately knitting together in abrupt confusion. "Huh? Yeah, of course I would, Star!" Well, mostly. The whole crush thing was a different story. " . . . Why?"

She listened to him ramble, gazing up to him as her dainty arms still remained around his body, letting a giggle leave her lips, before falling hushtone. "Hey, Robin? You would tell me anything, right?"

M i x e d s i g n a l s . Starfire is the most confusing girl he's ever met. Ironically, the most amazing at the same time. Robin returned the embrace, without hesitation; laughing lightly. "I'd be a pretty terrible . . friend . . if I just died on you."

On the verge of tears, she sniffled as he reassured her, immediately wrapping her arms around the boy and speaking excitedly once again. "Oh thank the nebulas! I couldn't imagine life without you, Robin!"

She's hyperventilating. "Oh no, are you going to die? Robin, no! I can't lose you from hearing problems! " She doesn't understand the concept that hearing isn't a life-threatening problem, o b v i o u s l y.
