“Gaza, I think, is the most fiendishly difficult urban setting of any since 1945 and that includes Hue City and a number of the other major urban battles of Vietnam.” don't miss my podcast where I interview General (ret) Petraeus about Hamas in Gaza. mwi.westpoint.edu/urban-warfare-…
@SpencerGuard they wear sandals and regular clothes. They have Aks and no tanks or aircraft. Israel seems to be easily destroying the entire city
Very informative. I think, however, that the idea of walled cities, etc., is a non-starter. If that happened, there would simply develop the narrative of you “Israeli prisons” etc. “no freedom, Palestinians are subjugated to Israel” etc. And the walled city, etc., approach ignores the antisemitism that is endemic in much of the Arab/Muslim world. This anti-Semitism is spiritual in nature, and the solutions must be spiritual based on Biblical principles.
@SpencerGuard Aw, is committing genocide difficult?
@SpencerGuard @davidfrum Petraeus lost Iraq and if you listen to him, he will lose Gaza too. Free Palestine!
@SpencerGuard One point of disagreement is with Patraeus's emphasis on winning hearts and minds. If the majority of the population is ideologically aligned with Hamas, not sure how much promising material improvement is going to matter. (I.e., most likely join Hamas from religious conviction)
@SpencerGuard Thoroughly excellent and much appreciated podcasts
