'The largest ever study of autistic people’s priorities has revealed a desire to focus research on mental health, post-diagnosis support + social stigma. The majority of funding for autism research is currently spent on biological studies and on the search for treatments+a cure.'

@Shrink_at_Large Like autistic people haven’t known this for years - I doubt if the ‘mice and marble’ brigade or their curative funders will listen and change :(
@Shrink_at_Large Yes, this! My 34yo daughter with autism doesn't want a cure - she wants support and acceptance. We all need to accept people's differences, without shunning then for it.
@Shrink_at_Large I got the opposite of post-diagnostic support. The NHS actively drove me to suicidality with a botched diagnosis they refuse to finish. I struggle massively with autism but the NHS doesn't care.
