Per @nikkansports, MLB teams have been informed that MLB’s relationship with other countries' professional leagues has been terminated to avoid pre-negotiation tampering. This would include leagues such as NPB, KBO, CPBL, and LMB. MLB employees will be prohibited from “direct or indirect contact” with players and teams from these leagues. t.co/aYEZZY0m2L
If the report is true, the timing of this is pretty wild, RIGHT before Opening Day. This would not affect the posting system since the report specifically mentions PRE-negotiation tampering. H/T @yakyucosmo who explains more on the implications in his thread:

@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports This mean. No sasaki in mlb
@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports Ok, but who’s gonna stop them?..
@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports Unless it's the Dodgers, then MLB will turn a blind eye.
@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports Good. Stick to changing all the rules to pansy-up the sport even more. @MLB @MLBPA
@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports Damn, Yamamoto has one bad start and they're gonna burn it down? I mean, that's a joke, but I wonder what kind of effect this would have on something like the WBC.
@Shawn_Spradling @nikkansports In European soccer teams are not allowed to negotiate to players while they're under contract. They still do it anyway.
