When I think of voting, I'm not looking for a political savior. I'm looking to do damage control, to harness the principalities & powers. I'm voting for the candidate who I think will do the least amount of damage to the world & who will alleviate as much suffering as possible.
And, just to be clear, that means doing everything I can to keep Trump from being re-elected.
@ShaneClaiborne And yet they will still do damaging and murderous things to some (or most likely many).....by Jesus’ standards. Therefore you are voting for policies.
@ShaneClaiborne That’s not a terrible perspective. Does that view have you leaning toward any particular candidate yet?
@ShaneClaiborne And your candidate will be very happy you set the bar at the floor. So you're happy with someone who will do NOTHING.
@ShaneClaiborne @DannyPanzella Interesting take, Danny, and I think there’s validity to your argument. I can also appreciate folks like Shane who feel so much pressure (in the spotlight) to vote. I’m also curious how Shane feels these days about his (former?) stance in “Jesus For President”...
@ShaneClaiborne I’m looking for a thoughtful intellectual president who leads by example with an exemplary family life... loyal devoted husband and father.
@ShaneClaiborne This is why many evangelicals voted for Trump. In their words, he was the choice that would alleviate the suffering of millions of unborn children who would otherwise be "murdered". Not saying I agree, but that's what they would say. How would you respond to them?
@ShaneClaiborne @RedLetterXians Do the least damage to the world? A President who will do they least damage to the world? What happened to a President who should be a leader to the world?
