A theological debate turned into an existential horror film, Grant is fantastic as a Lucifer-like character, scary due to what he can convince you of, though the film loses its sharp focus on the second half, turning the theology focus into something else entirely. #Heretic

A nasty, unhinged, funny piece of body horror, it's great when focused on its leads and the allegory of harming yourself to maintain beauty, though it loses its footing when it tips into cartoony farce, which it does with all it's men and very much in the climax. #TheSubstance

Continues the trend of soulless, unnecessary remakes of offbeat classics (a la Robocop and Total Recall) featuring mediocre performances, action, cinematography, and some bizarre needle drops, but more than anything it's just dull. #TheCrow
