Creating a national gun registry won’t stop violent shootings by deranged criminals. But it will restrict the freedoms of law-abiding Americans and put too much power in the hands of political officials and corporations. reuters.com/world/us/us-se…
@SenTomCotton How does a gun registry restrict freedoms? If you are law abiding how does this restrict your freedoms?
@SenTomCotton The US is the only industrialized nation that accepts the carnage of gun violence. It continues to get worse. The majority of Americans, including law abiding gun owners, are in favor of stronger gun safety legislation. Why do you keep ignoring that fact?
@SenTomCotton How about a police officer registry? How about police officers required to have a license, registration and professional malpractice insurance?
@SenTomCotton There are more than enough gun laws and regulations but what we don’t have is someone who will enforce them. Build back better with more prisons.
@SenTomCotton Why not try it. At this point with all the GUN VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN. TRY ANYTHING
@SenTomCotton As a gun owner, I'd like the idea of a national registry. So if my gun is ever stolen, there is something that can be about it. It's not an infringement of rights.
@SenTomCotton I wish someone had been "restricted" in Uvalde, at Sandy Hook, at Marjorie Douglas, at the Bug box store in El Paso, at the concert in Las Vegas, etc. Those people have been slaughtered and their right to LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS was taken away. Answer this-
@SenTomCotton What restrictions you drive a car you need a permit should be the same with guns and so what what if they check your background
@SenTomCotton How does it hurt law abiding citizens?
