We're in the midst of a housing and climate crisis – in Vermont, New York, California, and across our country. Too many people are homeless and too many are paying 50% or more of their limited income on housing. Enough is enough. It's time for a Green New Deal for Public Housing.
@SenSanders Why don't we try lowering interest rates on loans and credit cards rather than just giving them free money
@SenSanders You did this, with your illconcieved covid response berniesanders.com/issues/emergen…
@SenSanders How about stopping investment firms from buying property?
@SenSanders How much money have you donated to fight homelessness?
@SenSanders As long as you build a very substantial portion of that public housing in lily-white Vermont and import the typical public housing residents that the South has to tolerate, maybe I'll go along with it.
As a registered civil engineer and the founder of a single-person engineering firm in California that provides structural and civil engineering for home construction, I fully support Sen. Sanders and the other Senators in this bill. I offer my assistance and knowledge base in developing realistic green design elements and processes to bring intelligent building processes, engineering, architecture, and functionality to the needs of Public Housing. Alternative designs, such as SIP (Structural Insulated Panels) over traditional "stick" framing, use of engineered and composite framing members, use of recycled and/or repurposed materials, and innovations based on "local" materials and conditions rather than one-size lowest-common-denominator design that we might use for an entire state or nation.
@SenSanders How many houses are enough for endless illegals coming?
