I recognize that child care operators are in an extremely difficult situation thanks to out of control spending by the federal government that has increased inflation and significantly impacted operating costs. The current cost control framework established by the federal government does not recognize the inflationary pressures child care operators are facing. The federal government must respond to the concerns of these operators. Alberta’s government remains committed to protecting the affordability and sustainability of the child care system. I will be requesting a meeting with the federal government to discuss this further and to urge the federal government to consider changes to the framework that would support operators facing inflationary pressures. Child care is the responsibility of the provincial government and if the federal government doesn’t meet us at the table we will ensure Albertans can continue to access an affordable and sustainable child care system our way. Over the coming weeks, I will be meeting with our incredible child care operators to work on solutions together.
@ABDanielleSmith Child care is not the responsibility of the Provincial Government or the Federal Government. It's the responsibility of the parents 🤦♂️
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith So in a single parent household the mother should stay home and receive government funding?
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith If you can’t feed them, don’t breed them
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith But can we trust parents with their children’s upbringing ?
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith not when they make it cant live without both parents working and forced to used their brainwashing daycare, this way its starts sooner than schooling Movie Unleashed "Bart : Like my sainted mum used to say, "Get 'em young, and the possibilities are endless."
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith She is talking about the financial backbone of the daycare, not raising your kid.
@SeenAndForeseen @ABDanielleSmith My town didn't have daycare centres when my kids were young, I used day homes with friends and family for back up. That was alright. Some of my daughters friends use daycare centre's and they don't even have jobs, just want me time. People are screwed up these days.
