On this day 1989, an extraordinary game at Selhurst Park in Div 2, as #BHAFC lose 2-1 to #CPFC. Referee Kelvin Morton sent off Mike Trusson and awarded FIVE penalties. Palace had 4 and missed 3, while Alan Curbishley scored from ours. seagullsprogrammes.co.uk/198889
@SeagullsProg My first visit to Selhurst! Comedy refereeing and it felt like a victory as we could have been pummelled. Ironic cheers for every Palace penalty and then they missed all but one of them 🤣
@SeagullsProg I was there too, in the director’s box. Long story. Very weird game!
@SeagullsProg I was there ! Can't believe it was so long ago
@SeagullsProg My 1st ever away match. What a match to be your 1st! I can remember us all singing "penalty penalty penalty" any time a Palace player came near the box, then shouting "NOOO" when he gave them
@SeagullsProg For some reason kept the train ticket. £3.60 return from Lancing. Probably a few in the Merry Monk before heading up.
