No earthly nation in this era can be compared to Israel. None. That is a fundamental flaw in the aim toward building a "Christian Nation." We already have a holy nation, and it's not of this world (1 Pet 2:9).
@ScottAniol And those of us in the Reformed Theological Camp know that “the Israel of God” is made up of the elect of both Jew and Gentile (Rom 9-11; Eph 2:11ff). The piece of real estate in the Middle East, known as national Israel, has no real significance in biblical eschatology.
@ScottAniol What do you make of the Reformers and Puritans understanding of God’s covenantal relationship with nations?
@ScottAniol Can you have a Christian family, school, or business?
@ScottAniol And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today? Deuteronomy 4:8 Questions worth pondering. Are those statutes and rules as righteous today as they were then? Worthy of emulation & the jealousy of the Nations?
@ScottAniol What about a slightly less terrible Nation led by Christian magistrates enacting the Christian moral law and other civil laws that are consistent with scripture and for the general good?
@ScottAniol Yes, all Christians are members of the Holy Nation that is the true Israel. Yes all nations can and should pattern their laws after God's law if they are going to be just and equitable, they should submit to the "Ruler of Kings on Earth". Not of ≠ not in You are quite wrong
@ScottAniol Who said any earthly nation could be compared to Israel? That's not the argument. The argument is that earthly magistrates should obey their Master and honor the source of their authority.
@ScottAniol Why are we Baptist so cucked on this issue. What in thr world 🤦🏻
