The 47th Brigade is in a dire state, according to current and former military personnel of the 47th who were interviewed by EL PAÍS. Highlights High leadership turnover 47th Brigade has had four commanders in one year. First commander of the brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Sak, was relieved in September 2023 after the catastrophic offensive on the Zaporizhia front. Second commander Colonel Oleksandr Pavliuk. He held the position until last January. Military members of the brigade publicly accused him of not understanding the internal workings of a structure based on NATO models and of replacing infantry casualties with soldiers who were not prepared for front-line combat operations, such as members of the units artillery which were used in assault platoons. Third commander Dmitro Riumshin lasted only two months as commander of the 47th Brigade, from January to March. Several sources consulted say that he was dismissed first due to the high number of casualties in Avdiivka and the second, because he was not close to the new commander in chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Now fourth commander Colonel Yan Yatsishen who is expected to make intelligent decisions, not suicidal orders, clear and at the same time thoughtful orders. High causalities with the unit suffering 30% causalities in the counteroffensive alone. As for Avdiivka it was recorded that one company of the 47th composed of 80 men suffered 65 casualties in a week during the defense. Lack of munitions and spare parts has lead to lack of working vehicles. Sgt. Magura serves in one of the 47th's companies and states only 3 of the 11 Bradley's they had in 2023 are left. Of the three, one is being repaired because the starting system stopped working so they only have 2 operational armoured personal carriers for the company. Lack of spare parts has also rendered a lot of the m777 useless and now inaccurate due to lack of new barrels combined with dwindling munition supplies. Outnumbered and outgunned Magura the code name of the 28 year old sergeant in the 47th stated for every armored infantry vehicle that the Ukrainian army has, the enemy has 10; for every Ukrainian soldier defending the Avdiivka front, there are 30 Russians attacking them. Phoenix a civilian who works for the high command on the Pokrovsk front and for the Ukrainian intelligence services stated "Before (Avdiivka) For every Ukrainian casualty, there were three Russian casualties. Now we are almost on par.” english.elpais.com/international/…
We can keep pretending that there is no issues and that everything's hunky dory or we can acknowledge. Some units have been rendered in combat ineffective and need to be removed from the line and be properly rearmed re-equipped restocked and replenish with new soldiers. We need to highlight that this is what 6 months of inaction by the United States Congress has led to, along with the 11th month delay in mobilization by the Ukrainian government. These are very real issues that have very real consequences that are bearing nasty fruit. These issues need to be acknowledged and addressed not shoved under the rug.
@Schizointel @sentdefender What happened to Russ has a finite number of vehicles and limited personnel?
@Schizointel @sentdefender Ukraine will win looool
@Schizointel How to mininize casualties when the enemy has so much material advantage ? Seems like it's pretty good if they are 3:1 or 1:1, given the situation.
@Schizointel Well, the ship has sailed. It's over sooner than later. The West gets what it secretly wishes for: The Republic of Lviv.

@Schizointel Yeah they where always lying on the casualties
@Schizointel Without a complete change in leadership and tactical mindset, the best we can expect is status quo and stalemate. Leadership of both sides studied at the same institutes and trained in the same army for decades. They think the same, and are predictable to each other.
@Schizointel I bet Russia has saw this info along with the troops and that is why they decided to attack
