Precision is so important at every step in the process. The only way to ensure that the end production is accurate and fits right is that every step of the process is made with pride and precision. Paper under a fabric as well as on top helps to keep it accurate.
Once the toile is on the stand we can start pinning and marking on the toile. This is why we use cheap fabric because we will ruin it with pen and cutting. You can mark on design lines, pockets, new lengths. You can also open up seams and add in extra fabric or add extra length.
