"One of the most important things Americans can do right now is to exercise their political power at the ballot box, by demanding that leaders at all levels of government deliver serious climate action or stay out of office," @latimes editorial board says: latimes.com/opinion/story/…
@Sammy_Roth @latimes Even if California reduces greenhouse gas emissions some day, how will that offset coal power production in countries like China, India, and Indonesia?
@Sammy_Roth @latimes That's not how politics tends to work, unfortunately.
@Sammy_Roth @Cooper4climate @latimes To get my conservative vote: Prioritize climate policy. Because in the face of the tremendous body of evidence on this issue, anyone who still refuses to take it seriously would seem undeserving of our trust on national security, the economy, & any other complex issue.
@Sammy_Roth @latimes Sammy, what will the self-anointed elite at the LATimes going to do when the voters don’t play along ? Issue another editorial?
@Sammy_Roth @latimes Tell them energy needs to be built on rooftops and over parking lots No more habitat destruction. Get out and vote.
@Sammy_Roth @latimes How do we do that when so few politicians on either side support serious climate action?
@Sammy_Roth @latimes As a climate leader and former candidate for office I can say that at least in Los Angeles district 10 people have zero interest in climate solutions nor they want to elect climate leaders. Climate was a talking point people didn’t think was a priority. Sad.
@Sammy_Roth @weareyellowdot @latimes Protest and disruption are the most important things everyone should be doing. Vote, sure. But every major candidate is owned by big oil.
