@SpaceGeek18 @neiltyson To me science is open minded and continually question its premis. That is a good thing. Religion is closed minded in that it doesn't question its premis. What is written is "gospel" and set in stone. Challenging questions are frowned upon as "lacking faith".

It can still increase your ping even if you're connected to a low ping server/host. You still be potentially punished for being too good at the game.

You mentioned the bigger issue is manipulation for gamers to stay in the game longer, will likely spend money means they will be committed to stay to JUSTIFY any money spent makes a lot of sense. We all know the names affiliated with Activion will never ever tell the truth.
