Same question two years on. ITV spending all their money on pundits and that New York set yet they keep hiring a sub-standard lead commentary duo who are universally disliked. Seb Hutchinson as their number two is phenomenal by the way, but Matterface and Dixon are painful.

How can ITV get it so right with their studio analysts such as Keane, Postecoglu, Wright, Neville etc, yet have it so drastically wrong with Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon? Is it two different departments hiring? Do they spend the budget on pundits and not comms? Straight on mute.

Truly think Josh Thewlis is a live shout for the World Cup given the fact he can cover wing and full-back to a very high level. Ashton, Young and one other winger will go whilst Brimson is the obvious full-back but Thewlis is cover at both positions and still only 24.

Is Sue's red card as bad as the Jack Ashworth shot on Mikey Lewis that landed him a monster ban? That was an elbow on a prone player so maybe not but slosed fist, swinging arm and no intent to tackle. Think he will be sat down for at least three weeks but potentially up to six.

An incident that is not given as a penalty being upgraded to a red card on review either points to rules that are so split-second and hard to officiate or a game that has been allowed to get out of the control of the official. I think both can be true in this game.

Admittedly, I don't understand how the HIA protocol works but I'd be shocked if Dean Hadley is back today. He looked to be out cold, but Junior Nsemba also seemed to be out cold in the 2024 GF and he returned.
