On Wednesday, we met with the State Minister for @MoICT_Ug and the leaders of @943qfmlira and @kakebetech to advance ICT and media infrastructure in Lango. Our goal is clear pave the way for youth-centered digital innovation and long-term regional development.

On Monday, I visited City Gate Mixed Farm in Amuca, Lira City owned by Mr. Pius Olam, a farmer and businessman who embraced President @KagutaMuseveni wealth creation message through the four-acre model. Today, Mr. Olam manages an enterprise with over 12,000 layer poultry producing roughly 200 trays of eggs daily, cows, goats, sheep, coffee, bananas, and turkeys. I congratulate him for heeding the President's vision. I encourage our people to visit and learn from this model farm as we strengthen our collective fight against poverty.

The construction of the 20,000-seater Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium has reached 80% completion. Once finished, this world-class facility will feature a mini arena, athlete hostels, a sports club, training fields, an Olympic-size swimming pool, press conference rooms, VIP hospitality suites, basketball courts, skyboxes, a clubhouse, a library, a games room, and a grand statue of John Akii-Bua at the main entrance. I thank the @GovUganda and His Excellency President @KagutaMuseveni for delivering this sports facility for the people of Lango and all Ugandans. During our site inspection, I was joined by the State Minister for Education and Sports (Sports), Hon. @OgwangOgwang, the Secretary General of the National Council of Sports Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel, (@NCSUganda1), local leaders and technical team for supervising and executing this wonderful project.

On Saturday, I met with our progressive women’s group in Amitomot Village, Onywako Parish, Barr Sub-County, Erute South, to assess their progress since we launched their events management initiative a few years ago. I was so encouraged to hear how they have successfully grown their business and generated meaningful income from our initial investment. To help them scale their enterprise even further, I extended additional financial support. In a touching gesture of gratitude, the group generously presented me with a cow. I strongly encourage women across our villages to adopt this model by forming small groups and launching income-generating activities. Both the government and well-wishers are always ready to empower those who are already working to eradicate poverty at the household level. #DongoLobo

Today, the people of Erute South and I joined the rest of the nation at the @PLUsecretariat in Naguru to endorse Gen. @mkainerugaba for the presidency in 2031. This is a cause for the common citizen that deserves full support to ensure the continuity of the NRM government. We need peace and stability for businesses to thrive, our economy to grow, and our development priorities to be achieved.

The AIRD team, led by Deputy CEO & Chief Operations Officer Marc Meyer alongside Charlotte Muhwezi, paid a courtesy visit to my office to engage on their ongoing work of supporting refugees and host communities in Uganda. Our discussions focused on key intervention areas, including livelihoods, vocational skills development, water access, and the management of non-food items (NFIs). I express my sincere appreciation to the AIRD team for their partnership and continued support of the Government of Uganda’s efforts to enhance the welfare of both refugees and host communities.

Today, we visited Imvepi Refugee Settlement in Terego District to assess the extent of damage and destruction caused to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) facilities following violent conduct by some refugees on the 25th of last month. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over the election of settlement leaders. This is a regrettable incident that resulted in the tragic loss of two refugees' lives, and it must never happen again. During our meeting, I was informed that 33 of the 37 suspects arrested in connection with the election-related violence have had their case files processed and are ready for prosecution in court. We also discussed key challenges, including inadequate resources for both refugees and host communities, as well as a police presence that is disproportionately low for a settlement housing over 85,000 refugees. We must applaud President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for welcoming refugees to Uganda, as well as the Uganda Police Force for taking swift action to restore security following the incident. On behalf of the government, I will request the UNHCR to support the rehabilitation of the damaged facilities. Going forward, the government and development partners will collaborate to sensitize refugees and host communities on self-reliance, productivity, leadership, and adherence to the laws of the country. We met with Terego District officials at the district headquarters following the recent violent destruction of OPM facilities at Imvepi Refugee Settlement to assess the situation on the ground. ​We also met with Refugee Desk Officers and Arua City leaders at the Office of the Prime Minister to strengthen coordination and service delivery for both refugees and host communities. ​Permanent Secretary Mr. @AlexKakooza_ , Caretaker Commissioner for Refugees Mr. Tony Ameny, and other key stakeholders attended both meetings.

I joined family, friends, and the people of Lango in Atapara, Oyam district to lay to rest Basil Remy Ameny. We honor his quiet devotion to public service at NMS and his love for family. Deepest sympathies to Hon. Dr. @JaneRuth_Aceng and the entire family. Rest in peace, Basil. I also delivered messages of condolence from the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. I led the Ugandan delegation at the Africa Early Warnings Forum, held from September 2 to 4, 2026, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC-ADD) within the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) compound in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Co-organized by the @UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (@UNDRR), the World Meteorological Organization (@WMO), the African Union Commission (@AUC ), the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (@ifrc), this landmark continental forum convened African ministers, disaster risk management leaders, technical experts, and international partners. The forum focused on key strategic priorities of accelerating the implementation of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) across Africa, closing critical gaps in last-mile risk communication to reach vulnerable communities effectively and Integrating advanced technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into disaster preparedness and response frameworks.

My team mobilized borehole hand pump mechanics to repair boreholes across our constituency, starting in Abolet parish, with a target of restoring over 60 boreholes by the end of the year. So far, we have successfully repaired 20 broken boreholes, improving access to clean water supply for our people. We have also commenced the rehabilitation of a classroom block and office space at Olilo Primary School, where I recently hosted my thanksgiving prayer. Additionally, the motorcycle I pledged on Sunday (30.08.2026) to Daniel Obonyo, the catechist of Awebada Church of Uganda in Barr Sub-County was delivered and handed over to him today. These personal initiatives are aimed at improving social welfare and education in Erute South, fulfilling the pledges I made during my recent oversight visits. I appeal to the people of Erute South to actively participate in these development programs, especially by monitoring government projects to ensure quality and effective service delivery. #DongoLobo

I visited the Nile Humanitarian Development Agency (NHDA) Skilling Hub workshop in Lweza, along Entebbe Road, to see how they are empowering young women with practical, hands-on skills. Initiatives like this transform lives while actively supporting government efforts to drive youth employment. They have produced 1,200 garments for men, women, and children, which will be donated to our people in Karamoja. I thank the NHDA for this noble initiative your service to humanity is truly commendable.

I joined the Pakistan Association in Lira for a voluntary blood donation drive at GB Restaurant, Lira City, where I called upon our people to actively participate in donating blood. Health facilities rely entirely on voluntary donors to maintain adequate stocks of blood since it is an essential role in sustaining life-saving, emergency care, managing complex medical conditions, and reducing maternal and pediatric mortality rates in our region. I thank the Pakistan Association in Lira for their selfless initiative and continuous humanitarian contributions in Lango and Uganda at large.

This morning at Uganda Martyrs Cathedral, Lira, I handed over a Toyota Sienta to Rev. Fr. George Ochieng Olwanda, fulfilling my earlier pledge to support his pastoral work and evangelism. The Bishop of Lira Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok, witnessed the official handover of the vehicle and its logbook. Supporting those who carry the noble responsibility of preaching the Word of God has always been a personal calling to me because our clergymen require reliable transportation to travel freely and effectively to serve our communities. Galatians 6:6 teaches us that "Nevertheless, one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor." I will be delivering two more pledged vehicles to two priests within the coming week.
