The Loop: The attacker scripted dozens of transact() calls (visible across blocks 25448306–25448683). Each call released 25K USDC. If you migrate security checks from Step A to Step B to optimize for UX, ensure every conditional branch in Step B rigorously enforces it. Differential logic is where exploiters hunt. Laundering: ~$820K USDC was swapped to ETH, ~410 ETH hit Tornado Cash, and the rest moved to BTC via THORChain rails.

Attack Execution - Seed Deposit: Attacker (0xbB3f...) called prooflessDeposit(), minting a commitment without standard binding checks. - Forging Nullifiers: Because the spend circuit lacked constraints, the attacker could forge unlimited fresh, "valid" nullifiers for that same deposit

Hinkal Protocol was exploited today for ~$820K USDC due to a classic "incomplete security migration" bug in its ZK circuits. To improve UX, the protocol offloaded zero-knowledge verification to the spend step. but missed a crucial binding check. A quick technical breakdown
