The Goverment’s Rwanda policy isn’t just cruel, callous & morally reprehensible - the Supreme Court has confirmed it’s unlawful too. The fact the Govt came up with the idea of sending people fleeing violence and persecution to a country thousands of miles away is shameful.
It goes against everything we stand for as a nation. The Government must now stop playing on people’s fears, treat asylum seekers with dignity, reduce the backlog of asylum claims & work constructively with allies to stop the dangerous people-trafficking gangs.
@SadiqKhan "fleeing violence and persecution" I didnt realise France was so bad.
@SadiqKhan You know fine we’ll that most of the people on the dinghies are not asylum seekers. They’re illegal economic migrants that throw away their IDs so they can’t be identified. If they’re already being dishonest about who they are, what else are they hiding?
@SadiqKhan but haven't a lot of these people already passed through many peaceful and civilised countries on the way from where they claim to be persecuted to our shores?
@SadiqKhan How are you still in a job? Never seen so much division and crime occur in a city because of one persons blatantly corrupted leadership.
@SadiqKhan I think that shipping in boatloads of single men every single day without any security checks some of whom will go on to rape and murder British citizens cruel, callous & morally reprehensible.
@SadiqKhan “people fleeing violence and persecution…” 🧐
@SadiqKhan This country was thousands of miles away from them. What does the destination matter so long as they are safe?
@SadiqKhan What violence and persecution do they face in France? Or are they not coming from the French coast?
