Global coal demand is proving remarkably resilient 🪨 🇨🇳 That’s thanks to China’s energy security push and rising Indian consumption ⛏️ Producers are preparing for a future where they will be required for decades bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
@SStapczynski The sticky wicket for more coal to natgas switching is many of the target countries have lots of indigenous coal! Lower natgas & LNG prices will help spur demand, but coal in those countries will do well too.
@SStapczynski Old King Coal can't be dethroned. Even nuclear can only beat coal at heat and electricity production, but not the production of synthetic liquid or gaseous fuels. Wind/solar can't beat coal at all and is barely competitive as a fuel saver on coal fired electricity systems.
@SStapczynski And don't forget a little help from Indonesia too
@SStapczynski @business Australia and Indonesia should benefit a lot.
@SStapczynski Coal isn't the dirtiest (Dung, BioMass are worse for instance). False narrative from MSM demonizing coal.
@SStapczynski #coal demand won't drop any time soon. #ArtificialIntelligence and #ElectricVehicles will take care of any incremental #electricity that will be produced by #renewables and new #nuclear
@SStapczynski Meanwhile the west has surrendered in the energy war due to 'green' initiatives built on way shaky 'science'.
@SStapczynski Renewables are now growing faster than the growth of electricity demand, meaning that fossil generation will start shrinking from here on. We installed over 500 GW of renewables in 2023 alone, and those figures will look small in a couple years. weforum.org/agenda/2024/02…
@SStapczynski coal producers havent had much love recently
