First & foremost we would like @Keir_Starmer to take action on @NFBUK petition to immediately withdraw the statutory guidance on floating bus stops, as it is, as Kevin from Rochdale states ‘unfit for purpose’ as he calls for a moratorium to stop all future ones across the UK.

Kevin from Rochdale & colleagues from London are heading to @10DowningStreet to petition @Keir_Starmer on Monday 15 June at 11am on the new DfT floating bus stop guidance. The consultation was a sham & the guidance is discriminatory. It must be withdrawn. It is unfit for purpose.

@HSscorecard A promotional tool which cherry-picks stats to corroborate its main goal of validating #ActiveTravel policies. A few things it won’t address: Fewer shops, pubs, schools, local jobs & services, and longer trips with more congestion. Bus service cuts, increases in cycling KSIs.

At @10DowningStreet to demand a rethink on floating bus stops. Andrew here, used to be able to get the bus to M&S, Hyacinth to hospital and her knitting shop. Now it’s not possible because SoS @Heidi_Labour prioritise fit young cyclists who can’t wait over blind and disabled people. @Number10cat

@willnorman @TfL @TheLTDA It would be great if black cabs could access all areas in London. Disabled & older people need to get to where they need to go but this is not always possible due to TfL denying access to many places. Can you tell us how many roads they are excluded from please @willnorman?

And yet another low frequency bus service in the cycling heaven of Waltham Forest showing a shocking poor performance. An on time bus service constantly running late due to manufacturing of congestion outside LTNs . All data available on line to see . Unlike high frequency bus routes which can be be shown to have a good service even if buses are running 2 hour late , low frequency it there in black and white. Mini Holland is a shockingly congested place where outsiders suffer so middle class work from home selfish residents self gain …

Floating bus stops are being quietly installed across the UK, including the new ones in Yorkshire, and once again, disabled people are expected to navigate the fallout of decisions made without them. Leeds City Council is now “making alterations” and has commissioned an independent review. But the uncomfortable truth is this: the design didn’t originate in Leeds. It came from national guidance issued by the Department for Transport (DfT) under the banner of “active travel”. And yet, somehow, in 2026, we are still watching government departments roll out infrastructure that actively excludes the very people they claim to serve. @JohnJohnStewart @BetterR0ads Reminder of what was lost on Lea Bridge Road! As bus lanes disappeared busy Central London routes 48, 55 & 56 were stuck in queues of traffic. Re-creating scenes from the early 1990s. By the end of 2019 route 48 was axed. Ending historic links with The City & London Bridge!

@WasOnceLoved @visitcamberwell The London wide all bus average is the slowest since they started using I-bus instead of manual recording. Prior to that speeds were faster.
