Great talk today by Dr Stephen Bayley (@SHBayley_educ, Cambridge) on cognitive flexibility and global inequality, and the research at @PEDALCam.
Big shout out to my lovely dad who did his final day as a family court magistrate yesterday ahead of being 75 tomorrow. He an experienced family court chair who had to stop at 70 then got a bit more time. It’s a shame they didn’t scrap the age limit & look at competencies. 1/2

Not to miss.. we encouraged our participants to experience Learning through Play themselves, using LEGO 6 bricks and also discussing and sharing ideas in small groups.
Finally, Paul Frisoli from @LEGOfoundation discussed our findings, highlighting the importance of these across-context Conversations to move forward our knowledge about play and Learning through play.
I had the pleasure to bring Mexico to the fore by sharing about my own study in Mexican preschools, reflecting about the concepts, practices and factors from the context that shape how play takes place in Mexico. @REAL_Centre @CamEdFac @PEDALCam
Annie Smiley from @RESCUEorg and PlayMatters shared insights into their research in refugee centers in East Africa. How play and LtP is understood and put in practice this context and what they can do to enhance LtP.
@PEDALCam @REAL_Centre @CamEdFac @Steph_KaNo shared insights into how LtP can also be understood and seen differently in South African autism schools. Interestingly integrating the concept of 'Ubuntu', very important in this setting.
@domnickochieng from @PEDALCam @REAL_Centre @CamEdFac drives us to KENYA and shares insights into caregivers and teachers perceptions of play and its connection to learning. Key findings: mainly for teachers play is inseparable from learning and parents see it as separate.
@AmyParker78 from @SaveChildrenEU shared insights from their project observing and enhancing play and learning through play in 7 different countries.
@SHBayley_educ reminded us that we have all played... on our own way in our own context, and today we are Unpacking what Learning through Play means in different contexts and the tensions and implications of it.
