As of yesterday Wonky driving has mostly been figured out. We are not going to post much about this as a video is in the works that will properly explain the technical aspects. Once this is released it will be shared on this account and pinned.

When you destroy a car and then enter the interior the mission fails before the trigger is set back to how it should be. Meaning that when you load back in the game still thinks an interior is loading and won't restart the timer until a new one is loaded.

The cause for this was that a flag is used to state if the timer should be updated or not. The flag is set to false while an interior is loading and then back to true once the interior has loaded.

We have solved one of the glitches that was found in the game. Although this is a relatively minor one. This being the glitch that allows the player to freeze the timers during certain levels by using interiors.

@EnAppelsin Sorry for not replying sooner I hadn't checked this account for a few days. Comet was converting the game over to VS 2022 and that doesn't play nice with the version of DirectX the game uses. Which is why it's broken.

A lot of progress was made while I was sleeping last night. There is a lot of progress we have made so this will need to be a thread. TLDR game compiles on VS 2022 now and a lot of progress was made towards Wonky Driving.

Another apology as I've just been updated that the main issue isn't the emulator but instead the tools that are being used. This is the reason why updates have been so slow but we are working hard to make progress.

Apologies for no tweets in the past few days. We have been hard at work on wonky driving and progress has been slow. This is due to issues with the Dolphin emulator that mean we need more time than expected to work on this issue,

According to him there are a lot of matching objects although he has not stated what it is specifically yet. He went to bed after his reverse engineering software finished and stated he would continue work in the morning.

@aldelaro5 was able to extract the symbols from the GameCube version. We are using the GameCube version to try and reverse engineer consistent Wonky Driving while comparing it to the Source Code to help us understand how to trigger it on PC

This isn't huge news because this was theorized for a long time. However Baby Van is not related to wonky driving in any way

We are currently comparing symbols between the PC and GameCube port to hopefully find wonky driving. As it is consistent on GameCube we hope to find what causes them to be wonky by seeing the differences between the two ports
