Kindergarteners at Mt. Pleasant Elementary put on a wonderful, "Moving Up" show for their families. Not only did they sing their hearts out, learned sign language, danced, they also designed beautiful self-portrait t-shirts for the show! @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP

MTP had a visit from the Freestyle Connection BMX stunt team who performed awesome stunts, including some over Principal Ierano & staff! Along with these stunts bike safety was brought to light and importance of wearing a helmet! @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
Congratulations to 2nd grader, Gianna Teti & 5th grader Logan Boccard, on winning “Principal for a Day” at the MTP Fun Fest! They spent a fun day alongside Principal Joe Ierano, learning all responsibilities that come with leading an elementary school. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP

1st graders at MTP learned all about the life cycles of various insects. As a culminating activity, students performed an end of the year show for their families called The BUGZ Show. Their performance was full of singing, dancing, & lots of adorable bugs. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
5th grade Egg Drop, was "eggscellent"! Students worked hard designing a strong container for an egg to survive a drop from a 50-foot fire truck ladder. 19 eggs survived! Great job, thank you to our local Fire Department for helping launch our eggs. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
MTP’s Art Show displayed all the beautiful artwork students created throughout the year. Thank you, Mrs. Lindbom for all your hard work and inspiring creativity to our students. The show was incredible! @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP

AROUND THE WORLD PUPPET SHOW. 2nd graders put on an educational puppet show for their families. This is an extension of the social studies curriculum when students research different countries & present various tales. Students also made their own puppets. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
MTP Kindergarten Orientation was fun for all. Incoming students met teachers, enjoyed a story, made a craft and even rode the bus! While parents had a welcome meeting with Principal, Joe Ierano. Thank you to our PTA for all the help. @SmithtownCSD @SCSC_MTP
Student Council members from MTP put their gardening skills to work at Angela’s House for a beautification project! Thank you to the MTP PTA who generously donated plants and flowers to beautify their walkways, playground, and patio. Great job! @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP

HSW Leadership students visited 4th grade for a celebration honoring our nation’s 250th birthday! As part of this celebration, they reflected on the past & looked ahead to the future by writing letters to someone living in 1976 & to their future selves. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
Second graders researched dinosaurs, & created beautiful "Dino Dioramas". Students shared their dinosaur knowledge with family members at their Dinosaur Show. It was an amazing performance full of dino facts, jokes, songs & even dancing. It was Dinomite! @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
Bob “Dinoman” Lisaius visits 2nd grade. Students had a blast & many laughs taking a trip throughout the Mesozoic Era learning about dinosaurs, their behaviors & fossils. After the show, fossils were passed around for students to examine and ask questions. @SmithtownCSD @SCSD_MTP
