Today was the Tarzan Brown Memorial Dedication in Westerly, RI. He won the Boston Marathon in 1936 and 1939. There was a great turnout including his family, runners, including 3 Boston Champions, and supporters. The statue by Serena Bates was the focus. She is 2nd from right.

Congratulations to @BobbiGibb and the @262foundation on the ribbon cutting for her new statue in Hopkinton! Boston Marathon champs Bill Rodgers and Jack Fultz joined Bobbi for the ceremony yesterday. Bobbi led the way in 1966 as the first woman to run the Boston Marathon.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing yesterday of legendary track star Henry Rono, who set 4 world records in 81 days in 1978. I worked with Henry illustrating his autobiography, "Olympic Dream" in 2007.
