Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen: “God help us. The House Republican majority is a dysfunctional embarrassment…Don’t nominate lunatics.”
@RpsAgainstTrump This Congress has the worst approval ratings in history. And that includes every Democrat.
@RpsAgainstTrump Republicans always do this. They win by the narrowest of margins or under really weird circumstances (2000 and 2016 come to mind) and then act like they were given a Reagan-like mandate. They always overstep and miss their mark. They've never learned their lesson.

No, don't nominate cowards who won't stand up for their beliefs, you know, the ones they ran on. Politicians need to emulate Trump and stand up to the democrat bullies, and the lobbyists. Do all the constituents of all these representatives truly back all the pork that was in that spending bill? Be honest. Thought experiment, if their were earmarks totaling over 2 Billion, just in this bill, that MAGA reps wanted. Would you still be in support for the bill, even if it goes against all your beliefs?
This may be the most sane thing Marc has said in a while. Republicans act like they have a mandate from the voters for far right policies, if they did… we would have voted more into office. Congress just needs to start actually doing things. Negotiate. Take small wins & move the needle.
Marc Thiessen's opinion highlights a significant issue within the House Republican majority. It's vital to have constructive and responsible leadership in government, and the call to avoid nominating extremists is a valid one. It's important for political parties to prioritize candidates who can effectively and sensibly address the issues facing the country.
