@Rothmus fight for the million dollar burger. it’s happening
@Rothmus Genuinely, minimum wage as a concept needs to be eradicated. If I'm willing to work for $5/hour, and that's all a business can afford...why can ANYONE tell me I can't do that?
@Rothmus The reason they can't teach economics in elementary school is not because it's too complex, but because it's too simple. Children would quickly notice that land is different from the rest of the economy. But treating land exactly like capital is the basis of the property ladder.
@Rothmus Fight for 0 minimum wage and 2.5% inflation based UBI
@Rothmus If you consider the value of the minimum wage in 1970 at the then 35/Oz exchange rate, that's not far different from the value inflation has stolen in those years. Hard money > minimum wage.
@Rothmus Well, it definitely shouldn’t be $7.25 that’s for sure! I think $25 per hour with the gas and food prices the way they are is a good minimum wage.
@Rothmus I've heard of contracting firms charging $200/hr for welders to clients while paying the welder $20/hr and being generous paying them $30 an hour for overtime, making a fat spread. When the welders found out how much they were being ripped off they quit.
