BREAKING: Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani expected to be cleared of ALL wrongdoing in gambling + bookmaking probe as his former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara is in negotiations to plead guilty. @awitrado and I reacted to the reporting from @nytimes and others: youtu.be/2nk6phjAqfo?si…
@JeffSpiegel @awitrado @nytimes There were so many people who trashed Ohtani and wanted to see him go up in flames. The vitriol that was said was abhorrent. I’m glad due process ran its course. Innocent until proven guilty.
@RogerDer3 @JeffSpiegel @nytimes A lot to do with the team he signed with and people wanting the big, bad bully franchise to fall. Plus some people just root for people to go down if they are rich and famous.
@awitrado @JeffSpiegel @nytimes Dodger hate is real. The Dodgers are a storied franchise that not only has the financial wherewithal but also the player development that allows them to get cheaper production or to make strategic trades. It’s not easy to pull off, but they have.
