I hope One Nation adopts a strong policy extending the waiting period before newcomers can vote in federal elections. The current four-year period is far too inviting. It actively encourages political parties to exploit migration policy — not for the good of the nation, but purely for their own electoral advantage. I’d strongly recommend increasing it to 10 years. Otherwise, what’s to stop a rotten government like the Albanese regime from flooding the country with a million migrants to gerrymandering the electorate to fundamentally change Australia forever?

Can we just note this—The Bulwark and the New York Times heavily implied that Pete Hegseth’s tattoos that had nothing to do with being a Nazi were a massive red flag while Graham Platner’s actual Nazi tattoo was no big deal. They ran interference for a man who had at one point so embraced Nazi ideology that he permanently marked his body with their most extreme symbol while at the same time heavily implying that a man who has never had anything to do with Nazis and roundly condemns them was guilty of white supremacy because of vibes.
