Since 2020 — just 4 football seasons — there have been 35 NFL head coaching hires. 24 of the 32 teams have changed coaches. Carolina & Houston have made 3 head-coaching hires apiece since 2000. 7 other teams have made 2 hires. It’s become the No Patience League.
@RickGosselin9 I was about to add up all the hirings (and firings), then I saw your post and got all happy cause you already did it, thank you - by the way, some of us surmised when the cap was introduced that constraints on roster turnover would result in more coaching turnover - and hi Rick.
@RickGosselin9 I used to get together with several others to watch the NFL draft every year and we would predict the first round. I copied your mock and won every single year. The rest of them would copy Kiper, McShay, etc. You were the absolute best!
@RickGosselin9 Who was the last coach to retire from an NFL team? I think it was Tony Dungy in 2008 but maybe I missed someone. Don't count Pete Carrol since he was pushed out. Bottomline, is rare for a head coach to go out on his terms.
@RickGosselin9 For Houston, 3rd time is a charm and we'll stick with the Demeco coaching hire.
@RickGosselin9 If something isn't working it should changed. Look at Houston. Great hire. Then look at Carolina. Everyone said. "No patience! Why fire Reich?!" Well, if Reich is so good...why is he still without a job? All of new HC spots open and all of new assistants needed...
@RickGosselin9 Why would the Tennessee Titans not fire Vrabel for going 6-18 in his last 24 games and 1-9 in the last 10 divisional games. In what universe were the Titans “not patient” about the state of the franchise? Gimme a fucking break…
